It's a gorgeous Tuesday morning, January 20, 2009, an historic (yes, that's still the correct article to use with the word historic... get it right) day: The 44th President of The United States, Barack Obama, is giving his inauguration speech as we speak. The huge crowd assembled two blocks from me in front of San Francisco Civic Center is laughing and cheering and hopeful for the change that has been promised us. (As an aside, my mother has already emailed me twice to say I sing a better National Anthem than—ahem, Aretha Franklin—the woman singing this morning. At least my mother loves me)...
...So why the hell is my only emotion irritation at the Citizen Cake barista who put too much foam in my morning latte?
